Product Overview
Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) is a critical coenzyme found in every living cell. It serves as a primary electron carrier in oxidative phosphorylation and functions as a substrate for NAD-consuming enzymes, including sirtuins (SIRT1-7), poly(ADP-ribose) polymerases (PARPs), and CD38/CD157 ectoenzymes.

Mechanism of Action
NAD+ participates in two primary classes of biochemical reactions: (1) as a coenzyme in redox reactions, shuttling electrons via the NAD+/NADH couple in glycolysis, the TCA cycle, and the electron transport chain; and (2) as a consumed substrate in enzymatic reactions catalyzed by sirtuins, PARPs, and cyclic ADP-ribose synthases. These pathways regulate cellular energy metabolism, DNA repair, gene expression, and calcium signaling.
